About This Event

Build and restore real aircraft with aviation mentors while gaining hands-on experience in engineering, mechanics, and aviation.

Join the Sky Flight youth aviation program at Skagit Regional Airport and gain hands-on experience working with real aircraft. High school students work alongside experienced aviation mentors and mechanics to help restore, maintain, and work on aircraft while learning how airplanes function. Students may participate in ongoing aircraft projects, including restoration work on aircraft such as a Cessna 150. The program is designed for young people interested in aviation, engineering, mechanics, aerospace, or learning how airplanes are built and maintained. Participants can attend recurring work sessions, develop practical technical skills, meet aviation professionals and enthusiasts, and gain real-world exposure to careers in aviation. As students become more involved in the aviation community, there may also be opportunities to participate in aviation activities and learn more about flight training.
